Who is an estate surveyor?
An Estate Surveyor is a person trained
in the art and science of Estate Management and posses academic qualifications
such as B.Sc, HND, ANIVS.
The procedure to become a member of Estate surveyor and valuer registration board of Nigeria are:
a) You
must be a graduate of Estate Management.
b) As
a HND holder you must write two (2) different examination i.e. professional
practice examination (P.P.E) and professional qualifying Examination (P.Q.E)
and test.
c) After
passing the exams, you would go for two years industrial attachment (I.T.) or
training
d) Write
a professional thesis / undergo internship programme (project)
e) Invitation
for election interview
f) Induction
ceremony with issuance of stamp and seal.
g) Recommendation
letter from an approved – establishment under the supervision of an associate
member of the institution with at least 5years experience as an Associate.
PROCEDURE TO BECOME A MEMBER OF NIESV
(a)You
must be a graduate of Estate Management from a recognized university which is
accredited by examination committee of the Nigeria Institution of Estate
Surveyor and Valuers (NIESV).
(b)
You will only need to write
professional practice examination (P.P.E).
(c) The
Next stage is to submit a thesis / project proposal of three (3) topics of your
choice which must be signed by a chosen supervisor and sent to the examination
committee of NIESV for approval
(d)
You must attend at least
two (2) national conferences, workshop, seminar, organized by NIESV while
writing your project. An example is mandatory continuing professional
development programmes (M.C.P.D).
