ABSTRACT

The purpose of this project work is based on the assessment on the approximate estimate performance in forecasting the actual cost of construction project in Kaduna state Nigeria. The problem is that improving the cost performance of construction project remains one of the challenges facing the construction industry; therefore the essence of this work is to enhance the accuracy and efficiency in actualizing the actual cost of construction project. The project highlighted the background of the study and  also discussed the  problem statement, aims  and objectives, significance of the study, scope and limitations of the study and among others, also in the literature review of the study, nature of the construction industry were discussed and concept of estimating with approaches of estimating were also discussed. The study therefore found that approach to approximate estimating has brought about a road map in estimation of construction project. it is therefore advise that consultancy and construction firms should endeavour to use this method which in actualizing the actual cost of  construction project in other to give client value for his  money. Finally, the conclusive recommendation in assessment on approximate estimate performance in forecasting the actual cost of construction project should be done to attain the aims and objectives of this study.
