The wheel model is a psychosocial programming principles which is focus on the child. It is child cantered, this implies that meeting the needs of the child is the main aim of this model. Since the child is not leaving in isolation, he/she lives in a family and the family lives in a community. Therefore the child has the family and the community at large to care for their spiritual, social, physical, emotional and mental needs.

Advantages of the wheel model

The major advantage of the wheel model is that the child is at the center of the model (wheel) i.e. it is child centred. And all the needs of the child ranging from social needs, physical needs, emotional needs, spiritual needs and mental needs are being cared for, if the model is properly implemented.
