LEVEL OF PRODUCTS AND SERVICES 

Product planner need to think about producer and services on three levels. Each levels adds more customer value. The most basic level is the question of what is the buyer really buying? When designing product, marketers must first define the core, problem solving benefits or service that consumers seek.

At the second level, product planners must turn the core benefit into an actual product. They need to develop and service features, design the quality level, brand name, and packing and other attributes have all been combined carefully to deliver the core customer value or staying connected.

Finally, product planners must build an augmented product around by offering additional consumer service and benefit.

Consumer sees products as complex bundles of benefits that satisfy their needs. When developing products, marketers first must identify the core customer value that find ways to argument it in order to create this customers value and the most satisfying customer experience.

PRODUCT AND SERVICE CLASSIFICATION

Products and service fall into two broad classes based on the types of consumers that use them, consumer’s product and industrial products. Broadly defined, products also include other marketable cuticles such as experiences, organizations, persons, places, events and ideas.

  1. CONSUMER PRODUCTS
  2. Consumer product – is a product brought by final consumers for personal consumption.
  3. Convenience product: A consumer product that consumers usually buy frequently, immediately and with a minimum of comparison and buying effort.
  4. Shopping product: A consumers product that consumers in the process of selection and purchase, usually compares on such bases as suitability, quality, price and style.
  5. Specialty products: A consumer product with unique characteristics or brand identification for which a significant group of buyers is willing to make a special purchases effort.
  6. Unsought product: A consumer product that the consumer either does not know about, or knows about but does normally thing of buying.
  7. INDUSTRIAL PRODUCT

This is a product bought by individual and organizations for further processing or for use in conducting a business.
